Genuine Guest Reviews – Yosemite Southgate Hotel and Suites

My husband and I feel the highlight of our trip to Yosemite was staying at the Yosemite Southgate Hotel. The best part was the staff. Helpful, patient, encouraging, and just plain fun to deal with. Thank you!

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Walls are a bit paper thin as we could really hear the guests above us. But this wasn't anything that kept us up. Location is walking distance to several restaurants. I would recommend this hotel as a clean and comfortable place to stay.

This older, renovated hotel was the closest to the Park at a reasonable rate and decent accommodations. They have a variable rate that seems to be $100 more on weekends. The pool and hot tub were clean and refreshing. The free continental breakfast was pretty basic but there is a Denny's right next door for those with a bigger appetite. There is shopping close by which is handy as you prepare to spend some time at the Park since there is not much between Oakhurst and the Park.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. The room I had this time was in the back facing a hillside of trees and bushes. Loved it. The room was very spacious. Loved the little coffee maker with the Wolfgang Puck coffee pods. Leave more please. The bed was very comfortable. Again, everything was very clean. Front desk staff very helpful and pleasant in spite of the fact they bore the brunt of noise and construction of the remodel. Also appreciated the fact they gave guests the option to participate in water conservation - reusing towels, shorter showers, low flow shower heads! I too would rather see the water in Yosemite's waterfalls :-)

Appreciated their attempt to modernize the rooms. It certainly isn't plush, but what it lacks in style it makes up in hospitality. The front desk staff, day and night, are extremely friendly and helpful. One severing staffer gave us a pizza coupon out of her wallet. It's like staying with friends. A homey feel. They even decorated the lobby for Halloween and had candy for the guests.

This is was my first time at Yosemite Southgate Hotel and Suites and I enjoyed it greatly. The staff went out of their way, (Janet and Amber) to help fix a glitch in my reservation that I had booked through Priceline. We know how difficult it can be to resolve these matters. Janet and Amber went out of their way to assist me and cleared up the situation. This took 2 days! Upon arrival to the hotel, I was pleasantly greeted. What a lovely place! Nice and quiet and the beds are so comfortable I fell asleep right away! Large rooms with everything you need! I will definitely be returning soon!

The hotel is nice, good locations near some restaurants, I really recommended. The room was big, very clean, and nice. You can have drinks and have it in the small refrigerator inside your room , also enjoy the small coffee maker. You can go to the park Yosemite and that can take you in 35 min from the hotel. Also you can take many tours.

Wow! I was extremely satisfied with my recent stay. I had never been to the area and/or was I familiar with where to stay. My travels brought me in town for the Bass Lake Triathlon and my only regret was I didn’t make a weekend of it. What a great hotel, friendly staff and most important to me, a great location. I was in for a quick overnight stay so I didn’t get to eat, drink or play so I will absolutely be back.

My husband and I loved this hotel and stayed one extra night. Very friendly and informative staff and homely atmosphere as soon as you walk into the foyer (love the bears).

Best value in the area. Huge rooms, VERY comfortable pillows. Wifi worked well. Good parking, walking distance to resturants. Would definitely stay again. VERY friendly front desk.

I had most enjoyable stay and loved the location proximity to services and wide choice of restaurants. The biggest like I give is to the staff, especially Brandan , who welcomed me on my arrival to the hotel and explained to me the hotel's facilities and then later was quick to help reassign me to a different room for the view of the wooded hills. All in all , I highly recommend this hotel and I received more than value for money experience.

Staff was great and helpful. Rooms were clean and lighting was great. Close to restaurants. Would stay there again.

The hotel is going through a much needed remodel on the outside. The rooms are very large, everything works and the beds are comfortable. I found a deal good on TravelZoo.Com. I would stay here again. It's close to Yosemite and that's why we went there.

We had to find a place quickly after our stay at the Indian casino ended rather quickly. We were warmly greeted at the front desk by the nicest woman (I wish I had her name)and quickly checked in. The room was spacious and clean, there is a pool and spa, exercise equipment, etc. Even breakfast was included. I wish we had chosen this place in the beginning.
